Brigham City Peaches

On thursday Orange and I went up to Brigham City for the temple open house.
Brigham is like a second home for me. I have a lot of family up there, and would visit nearly every summer, and any other time that I could. I love it there.
When they announced the temple being built there I was so ecstatic. Every time I drove up I would drive past the spot where the temple was to be and watch its progress.
I never really knew how much I would absolutely love that temple.
It was gorgeous inside and out, and had so much of Brigham in it. It's definitely one of my new favorite temples.
Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of us at the temple, or of the temple itself, which if you know me that's crazy. But I knew my grandma was leaving for work and I really wanted to go see her rather than take photos of myself. Just gives me an excuse to go back up and do a session.
After my grandma left for work, we had a really awesome talk with my grandpa, which I have never really done with him. It was so nice being able to listen to all the stories he had to tell, especially of being a boy with a dad who owned miles of peach orchards. I told my grandpa how much his dad would have loved the new temple, with all the paintings of people in the orchards.
While we were talking my grandpa got a call from his brother, who has an orchard himself, and asked if we wanted to go pick some peaches to take home.
I knew my mom wanted to can peaches, and I really can't turn down a good Brigham City peach, so we went.
It was so much fun picking those peaches with my family, especially since it was something that had to do so much with our family history.
Needless to say, it was a great day in Brigham City, and I will be returning very soon to get some photographs of that temple, to add to my temple photo collection.

My birthday

July 24th, exactly a week after my husband's, was my birthday. We're kinda hoping to  not have our children in July...
Anyway, my birthday was real fun.
He woke up around 8 am and made his own little breakfast food. It was really good, I'd never had anything like it.
This was him being real cute and trying to take a photo of the food like I do for me to remember. Aww.

Excuse the mess of wires over there. We had just moved in and everything was a mess. Oh, and also excuse how heinous I look in these morning photos.

After breakfast I got ready and Oran gave me my presents.
I got a bike helmet and other bike essentials because... well he got me a bike! Okay not quite he actually wanted me to pick it out. So right after we opened these we went searching for the perfect bike.

We gave up bike shopping for a little while so we could go and have lunch with my family at Tucano's. My favorite place for a birthday meal. When we were done with that I opened my presents from my parents.
All of the gifts were great, I really loved them.

I really love this photo of my hubs.
 My awesome parents.

After that we headed out to watch fireworks for one of the first times on my birthday. I don't know why I never really watch the fireworks on my birthday, but I don't. When I was little I thought they were all for me. Still kinda like to pretend that they are.
We had a lot of fun with friends that night, and with each other.

The next day we took trax up to Salt Lake to look at bikes for me.
It was a hard decision because I really wanted a cruiser, but I decided in the long run a mountain bike would be better, and so we bought this beauty.

Normally I hate my birthday, a lot, but...
this year, my birthday definitely did not suck.

Meet Betsey

Sadly, my lack of blogging has left me to leave out a very important detail to my life lately.
And so, I would like to introduce you all to my little girl:
Meet Betsey,
Yeah, She will smile for the camera.

I kind of love her, a lot.
So here is the story,
One day Oran and I were running some errands and he turned to me and said, I have a surprise for you. I asked what it was and he told me he was planning on getting me a dog. Immediately my face lit up. I've been wanting a pup for forever, but we couldn't have one in our old apartment. We started looking at dogs online. It took us a while, but when we saw this girl, we knew she was the one.
She had one blue eye and one brown, and was a bundle full of cuteness.
We immediately called on her, hoping she wouldn't be sold.
Luckily she wasn't and we made our way all the way up to Ogden to get her.
Ever since then she has been the best little friend I could have.
Honestly, it feels so good to be able to take care of something that needs my help. That's exactly what I've been craving, and she has been one of the best decisions we have made. She is such a sweet good dog, and we really love her.
Here are some details on her:
Her coloring is a Cavalier King Charles,
she is super long like a Daschund, so that could mix into what she is as well,
we also think that she may be pekingese.
She snorts like a pig when she goes for walks on a leash, and it's hilarious.
She loves to sniff everything like a bunny.
She would eat paper all day if she could (unfortunately),
She loves to play especially with other dogs,
She is such a cuddle bug. She loves to cuddle all the time.
We call her Betsey Boo,
Oh, and nothing is wrong with her eye, she can see out of it just fine.

Yes, we've become one of those people, but we love our dog.
You'll probably hear about her a lot more on here.

Oran's Birthday

Poor poor blog. I believe you need some updating don't you? I really need to back track then. How about we start with Oran's birthday? Because that is the memory card I have in right now.
Oran's birthday was on July 17th. Exactly a week before mine. I decided to go crazy for his birthday and do a whole bunch of stuff for him. Mostly creative homemade things. So the night before we he went to bed I ran to walmart, and picked up a whole bunch of supplies. It was a little weird being the only one in Walmart at 12 am aside from the workers... but I made do.
I stayed up until four in the morning blowing up balloons, hanging streamers, and banners, finishing up the rest of his gifts, and making tags on photoshop. Yeah it was a lot of work, but I felt it worth it.

I got about two hours of sleep, and then woke up and started to make Oran breakfast at 7 am. He was planning on going to Barnes & Noble at nine so that he could get his favorite authors new book. So I had to be up before him.
I made him a muffin in a pie tin. Which isn't exactly something that's new around our household. When we were first married, we didn't have any muffin tins. I really wanted to make muffins, so I just grabbed a pie tin, and made it and cut it just like a pie. Well, it happens to be Oran's favorite way for muffins to be made now, so that's what I decided to make him for breakfast. It was really good.

Then as soon as we were done with breakfast we ran off to Barnes & Noble.
I had bought Oran a new CD for his birthday so I made sure it was in the car for us to listen to on our way there.

After that we went home, and I took a nap. I could barely keep my eyes open, and Oran wanted to start reading anyway.
After I woke up we went to Wingers for lunch with my family. Where we gave him all his presents.
(Season Membership to The Children's Theater, where he does most of his plays)

(Movie gift: Popcorn bucket, popcorn, and the movie Walk the Line)

(Showering you with love: Shampoo & conditioner, Body was, scrubber, and cologne)

(Reasons Why I love you candy jar. Reasons are written on the candies, and this is for his desk at work)

(Mini air hockey table)

(All things fishing)

After Wingers we drove up to Oran's dads house who had invited us to go to a free concert at the Red Butte Gardens. First we opened presents. We got both our presents at the same time, and they had gotten us Camel Backs! I don't know why I'm so excited about them... but I am.

(The camel backs)

Then we went off to the free concert.
Have you ever been to Red Butte Gardens? It is so beautiful there. I was in love. We had such a good time listening to the music being played (which was really good) and touring the garden together.

Honestly, I just have to put that this is one of my favorite nights I've ever had with my husband. I just felt so happy and so in love, and the outing couldn't have been better. It was an absolutely perfect night.
